Same Spirit
Different eyes
Temporarily lost
And disguised
Behind a mask
Looking out
Our true identity
Now we doubt
A masquerade party
We’ve all been fooled
Lessons to learn
In drama school
The drama hurts
The drama feels good
The truth is not
Understood
Drama school
We’re let out
When the masks
We finally doubt

Beautiful. I love the form you used. My favorite part was this stanza:
"Behind a mask
Looking out
Our true identity
Now we doubt"
Really spoke to me of the masks we all wear. Good work, beautiful poem. Thank you for entering! -
Excellent & Exquisite
Many years ago, my best friend Anita swept out her arm to encompass the world and said, "Bonnie! All this is one vast illusion."
I'd already begun my research and study with the Holy Spirit, so that set off my next request of Him: "Please, allow me to see the illusion, then to see beyond the veil of illusion to what is the reality."
He did and what a tremendous gift that completely altered my perception of this very temporary life, of death, and so much more!
This is a wonderful poem by a truly talented poet who shares a love of the Father and His Christ with me.
I look forward to reading more!
Much love & hugs, BonnieQ
