In verdant valleys,
over hills
that ripple,
veiled in leafy frills,
love's canopy
in whispers sweet
dusts shadows on
our earthling feet.
With season's moods
and subtle shift,
it celebrates
its pungent gift
and thriving in
these ancient lands
unbowed,
the Eucalyptus stands.

WoW! The perfect meter and precise delicate wording are what really knocks this one out of the park. It's fun to read just to feel it fall off the tongue. Very nice!

This was a beautiful piece--especially a pleasure to read out loud.
in whispers sweet
dusts shadows on
our earthling feet
Masterfully done! Best of luck in the contest,
El

The smell of eucalyptus is often the first thing I notice when returning from overseas. You have captured the uniqueness and preciousness these trees have for most Australians.
