Dear Lord:
I know you are busy however I really need to talk with you.
I am doing it in this manner instead of a prayer because I am trying to get my head straight and writing it down on paper helps me to do so. I hope you don't mind.
We, the human race, are in a lot of trouble down here. It seems to me that the devil is getting the upper hand.
We have the destruction of our eco system. People are just not aware of the damage they are doing and the consenquences of it. Global warming for one. And there are those who are aware and just don't care.
Then we have the many wars that are popping up here and there. Lord if you don't put a stop to these soon I am afraid that someone somewhere will pull a trigger that will be the beginning of the end. Radioactive fire will then reign on this earth not man.
Then there are the terrible things that men do to each other. The husbands that abuse their wives and children. The lovers who cheat on each other. The people who kill for sport or because of some strange sickness. There is starvation and diseases in this world Lord. A world that is fully capable of feeding all its children if only the people would share what they have with each other.
Lord there is so much evil in this world that I worry for our Souls.
Lord how can we make your word heard in a world like this.
I want to shout out your name to the world but I fear that no one is listening.
Lord can you please just give me the strength to do what is necessary to keep your teachings in my heart. To put you first in my life and to spread your love throughout this troubled world.
Thank you Lord for reading this letter. I hope that you understand where I am coming from and show me the way to stand beside you up in heaven some day.
Amen

Now this I can relate ..it frustrates me that people blame the Devils doings for Gods and then they say he(God) doesn't care ..his heart is bleeding because we are shutting him out ...but soon things will change ..he will not let this planet be destroyed ...hes commin back ...so your prayer will be answered and things will on that glorious day change dramatically...an excellent prayer/poet ..you are showing true compassion and understanding...

Such a heartfelt and beautiful prayer. A lot of us want the same things in life, for all of humanity.

To me, this says it all! Thank you for that prayer. We need more of this. God does hear us and one day we will be victorious! Don't lose sight of where you need to be heading.
I guess you could say this is my favorite!!

How true your words! I hope that Lord hears this and can help show us the way to end some of these problems that you speak of here! It would be great to see some, if not all of them end here and now, today.
Great job!
Best of luck in this contest!

glad that you liked it. I made the background and wrote the poem all by myself. I really do like the background.

I love how this seemed more of a conversation than a letter. You were speaking as if to a friend. You portrayed your emotion very well again in this, great write.

well I like to talk to God every day. I will be doing something and just start up a conversation in my head. God is my friend. My confidant. My savior. In many ways the only one I can tell all my problems too. Because He understand where I am coming from.

i loved the frank, conversation you had with God...afterall He is our firend too. As if you were talking to a best friend or a parent. Very well done. very emotional piece. i could feel you pleading for help ...your desperation. excellent emotion.

I liked this it was very heart-felt and beautifully layed out
I am Wiccan so I do not follow your religion but I have the utmost respect for any religion and I am so happy that you have found your own Personal Jesus as Manson put it. Great job!

I have met a lot of wiccans lately. Nothing wrong with being different from me. If we were all the same then the world would be a truly boring place. Don'tcha think? thanks for commenting.
