some people speak through nouns
some through verbs

some use the wrong words to express how they feel
some people just don't know how to understand
what is fantasy and what is real

i speak through poetry
i speak of inner demons still battling me

anyone can speak of hardship
anyone can speak of abuse
anyone can speak of a hidden but absolute truth
anyone can write on a page

i speak in poetry because i want to be heard
i want to soar like an eagle
i want my voice to soothe my listener's mind


can someone identify with you
can everyone understand you?

can your bleeding heart have someone in awe?
can your broken heart have everyone in love brokenhearted?
can your words touch the fiber of anyone's core?

i can because i speak in poetry
an art that will have the spectator listening
