President Barack H. Obama

Missing image

An inspiration, a father, an American President, a  husband,

unwaivering faith, a son, a leader with an outstreched hand.

A seeker of wisdom through compassionate eyes of insight,

illuminating, a brilliant spokemen who's truths can reunite.

Let us arise, entwine as a Nation of Freedom, living dreams,

being the solution instead of giving into extremist regimes.

Let us all unite individually, to finish  this fresh photograph,

for present ways of waste lands,  leads to pathways of wrath.

Though today has brought us new visions of pure harmony,

I for one am looking inward to see what changes live freely.

For the greater goodness of my neighbors, friends, and kin,

may all faithful souls bestow encouragement deeply within.

Remembering dark yesteryears, but none repeating reruns,

through sickness and in health, carrying brother's burdens.

With deep sincerity of soul, may we all lead and not follow,

let our differences build bridges, and love not ring shallow.

Let truth and justice, be the fairness that prevails in the law,

may there be peace,  liberty,  and happiness for one and all.

Author notes

A dedication, and an inspirational write he placed in my heart.

Love to all who share here, and thanks for reading me. Peace..

    EXCELLENT!

"Let us arise, entwine as a Nation of Freedom, living dreams,
being the solution instead of giving into extremist regimes."

This is my dream as well Timothy. I do pray that before my time on Earth has expired that I see a nation of peoples, all colors, all persuasions, all encompassed in love and respect for one another.

These are brilliant sentiments dear brother. Everything I feel is wrapped into this fine poem.

I LOVE YOU, and pray that many blessings are showered daily on you and your family.

    Always ♥

you have just put into poetry the essence of what the new president is trying to symbolixe. it is a collabrative effort and when people like you do something this passionate it shows that you are on board for the needed change. whatever you write has your unique signature of compassion on it and this profound piece is no exception. this resounds the unity that this country as well as the world should be about.

    I am with you!

I was looking to read a few poems about the inauguration. You have indeed captured the wishes of all who were there, and those who watched, cheering from home. IN '63, in the 10th grade I walked with King, and can still hear his speech. The throngs there today echoed the tiny group from then in hoping all people would act as one.
Your use of rhyme is very effective in spreading your message for peace. There is no form you don't tackle with grace and style. Thank you for sharing your words for this nation to come together through this man. We all play a part.

    Superb Plus +

Aye, I quite agree. I am hoping he will be the FDR, for a new generation of Americans, and even create a modern version of the Works Progress Administration, so the unemployed will have work and get paid directly, without having to waste time and resources, pounding the pavement in an almost futile effort to find work. And maybe we can do something to finally solve the problem of Homelessness, as well. Peace to you, as well.

This poem shows all of our new presidents qualities, the sum of who he is and most likely played a hudge part of him getting elected. May he be continually encouraged to keep these qualities. We are proud of you!!!!

    Words of Wisdom!

Hi Timothy, I am so proud to have read your poem and your honoring our president Barack Obama. He is a truly inspirational president and person. No one can say that they didn't or couldn't accomplish their dreams because they didn't have a father to gude them. Barck is living proof that hard work does pay off. I am proud of him and I know that he will do well in his new administration and bring unity and peace to our country. Great job my friend. Avril

This is a gorgeous tribute! I still can't believe he became president, I am honestly touched and thank God for the fact that I am alive to witness this historical moment. Although I am Australian, I think the new President is an amazing man who will do great things for the American country. If he has touched me heart when I am in a whole different country, I have no doubt that he will do amazing things for his own people. Beautiful tribute, thanks for sharing!

I'll say this for the man - he regards President of the United States as a job description, not a title. That's a good thing. As a non-American, I hope he will have a positive effect for your country's reputation throughout the world.

  • An excellent dedication to an excellent President. I was shocked when he won in the state of Ohio. As far as I know, Ohio has always been a Republican state. I'm glad it turned around this time. May Obama bring lots of hope, optimism and change to the world for years to come. Thanks for sharing.

and eloquently spoken/written of course, I'm not one to engage in politics but I do think he is a good-hearted, well-meaning man who's has the best interest of the entire world at heart...but he is still just a man. I can't help but appreciate his determination. Your words have captured his candor P. Beautiful.

I voted for Obama and I'm glad to see something positive about him. I go to college in Louisiana and most people aren't too fond of him as far as I can see. The poem is very heartfelt, good work. My only complaint is I hoped it would rhyme. For some reason I feel that a rhythm would make it stronger, but that's just me.
