Please, do not get caught up in hype and its drama,
because this man is now President Obama;
for he's just a mere mortal man placed in office
by Father God, based on His plan of joy and strife
devised for man's short journey to eternal life.
In these end days, change comes to a world of nations;
as if by one: but by all human relations
built on love and equality— as Christ taught us—
and by our sacrifice, as there might be a need.
Are we all willing to work hard, share wealth, shed greed?
From great need, our sacrifice Obama will ask—
the wealthy to share their riches, that jobs give task;
that no one be without clothes, homeless and hungry;
ask doctors and hospitals to serve all who ail,
that teachers guide and teach each child to win, not fail.
In these end days, change comes to a world of nations;
as if by one: but by all human relations
built on love and equality— as Christ taught us—
and by our sacrifice, as there might be a need.
Are we all willing to love hard, share wealth, shed greed?
Please, do not get caught up in hype and its drama,
because this man is now President Obama;
for he's just a mere chosen man placed in office
by Father God, based on His plan of joy and strife
devised for man's short journey to eternal life.

Hype and drama portend miracles by a man,
as if he could— he's just a man in God's great plan.
Author notes
The Lord showed me that Obama would be President of this nation. . .
before Obama even ran. I am pleased that he is our new President

Exquisite and TRUE!
Your poem expresses my sentiments Bonnie! Obama is “a mere man”, he is not God. God set him in this position for a reason. We need change but that has to happen with each individual. WE need to get back to good morals. sharing our better angels with humankind. There is so very much expectation because we are in such a depressed state but what we need to do is pray...pray without ceasing for Obama, ourselves, the world...
Your words are filled with wisdom and foresight. I knew as well Bonnie. I ask God to keep him and his family protected. There are powers and principalities that do not want this to be.
Last night I watch "Bobby". What a great movie. Excepts of Robert Kennedy reminded me so much of Obama. I believe he studied every great leader and took a portion of their attitude and rolled it into his own.
This is a time of healing but it can only come;
"And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
Isaiah 61:4
I love you Bonnie, and I am always lifted by your poetry.
Always ♥
Renee

Hey, Sistah! So good to hear from you. Thank you so much for the encouraging review and for sharing your thoughts about our new President; quite handsome I might add. I liked him the first time I heard him speak and it wasn't even about running for the leadership of this country.
Alas, we are living in the end days; so, we are going to see Obama seemingly do things offensive to God, such as abortion and gay marriages; and, I know a ton of people are angry over Obama's platform. They see and hear and analyze by the finite, instead of by the spiritual. There is a world of difference: no matter what Obama does, he long ago agreed with God to do whatever God's Will to fulfill God's purpose; as have all kings since the first one allowed to the Hebrews. Every nations leaders will be in heaven, even the likes of Castro and Saddam Hussein.
Again, thank you, sweetheart and may your day be so filled with blessings that you lose count!
Luv & hugs, SisBon

Great work...
here Bonnie! I was thinking of entering this Contest but you beat me to it & this is a worthy write. So many people are heralding this man as if he's the savior of the world with all the answers & solutions for what ails us. Father help us all! I love the content, flow & rhyme of this, but most importantly the focus on the spiritual eyes that are required at this time to see all in its proper perspective! All the best in the Contest!

Well, Sis! You should enter this contest, too! If I know you, there already a poem written and rearing to go.
So, get it in here!

There's truth and wisdom in your words, I enjoyed reading this poem very much, and I do believe that he will indeed make a change - or, to say it more truthfully, the Lord will use him to change things.

Thank you for sharing this!
Keep on writing!

A message we need to hear!
My dear sis...there is no need in revising..this is excellent penning, insight, and flow! So glad to read this tonight as I reflect on today...You echo my own thoughts..He is Gods' man chosen for this hour..."He sets up kings and dethrones them"...He is a man of humility, and a servant...You also say that it is up to us to do what we can to help the situation...It is not only up to him...In our country Canada, it is up to us to help our Prime Minister...
You are so gifted, and have such a message here...giving wisdom to us all! Keep penning your messages....they are spirit and life, sweet soul...

Ah, thank you so much, sweet Sis, for such encouraging words. I am so happy about Obama's win; for I do feel it will mean change, at least insofar as it fits into God's greater plan. Obama is a mere man and, as such, can make mistakes; so, I hope the public realizes that his integrity does not eliminate mistakes. It just means he will admit them and do his best to correct them.

Much love and hugs, SisBon

Wonderful words!
And I agree...we all must help! and he is only a man...
but he has given us a new hope...and for that I am very thankful...It is wonderful to see family in the white house again.
Thanks for entering...best wishes in the contest and always!
Be well and blessed.

I applaud your insight into this matter, and just as you, I also predicted his win, long before the action started...nothing happens without God's knowing about it...good luck in the contest, you have a most worthy entry...lots of love

Thanks so much, Sis, for your encouraging review; but, most of all, for having shared the vision. God IS in control and always will be in control. I felt that Obama was and is a man of great integrity; so, though we do live in the end days, I feel he will do great things. . . if people just don't get caught up expecting him to perform miracles all on his own.
Luv & hugs, SisBon
