their wings coated
with the pollution of life;
breathing becomes labored
in their effort to survive
in an alien land.
Caustic chemicals collect in environment,
as trash covers the grounds
piling on sidewalks and streets,
over-running the alley ways,
while the once pristine landscape
buckles under the waste,
burdening spirits in their flight.
Creation,
clean and pure at one time,
is now heavily stained
by the diseases of mankind;
evil encroaches
as death infiltrates the living
all is un-noticed
in the rush of heavy plumes
that flutter to stay afloat,
while whispered prayers of hope
float on fatal faults of frailty.

Sounds like the plight of the earth alright.. what humans have done to it, and the price we ultimately pay for that.
Another very powerful write!

Thanks so much kiwi! Glad you enjoyed.

This is way interesting. It makes me think on why our guardian angels have a hard time getting to us sometimes. I can picture this and makes me realize we need to take a bigger stand with protecting the air. This was beautiful. Your first stanza just pulled me in.

So abstract & conflicting in its imagery & train of thought...

Awesome, awesome, awesome!
I feel that your take on the picture makes so much sense, quite logical as well as being absolute truth regarding our environment. One must wonder how God's angels deal with the mess man has made. As you say, all is unnoticed; but, like you, I notice and detest the degradation of God's glorious handiwork.
Surely there is a contest somewhere this would fit right in, for it ought to take the GOLD.
Luv & hugs, BonnieQ

Thank you so much 'Bonnie Q' for your lovely comment on this.
I found that picture and just liked it for some reason. Then I started typing - this is what came out. Some might make sense, some prob. doesn't, I'm not even sure what is says!...lolol
Being in a rural area, we see a lot of 'mess' on the beautiful landscape - it's sad.
(I didn't even look for a contest, although thank you for such a nice remark....

Image shall inspire but the heart shall speak
Telling it in raw honesty of truth
Paints such an image in my mind, leaving its double meanings between lines.
Deep and emotional
The flaws human life creates and the devil of lungs create.
Best wishes to you hun

Oh, my...
Not so strange at all! You know they want to re-classify man as a virus...or is it bacteria? I don't remember which...but apparently we are one or the other as far as the lovely Earth is concerned!
I can feel your angel's anguish in this one!
Very well penned...and understood!
Write on and on!
