I perceive your oceans vast and clear
epic expanses of nectar
Vitality pulses through every wave
Purity is their essence
You draw the tides to the shore
then pull them back to reveal the land
With the inherent energy you possess
your pleasure is your radiance
I hear their music
trillians of creatures calling
laughing as they play
Drumming heartbeats as they hunt
their prey
life explosions every one
Yet sister moon perceive my world
and its seas
with dying creatures gasping weakly
Their waters are poisoned so
oceans no longer follow my call
My life's blood
the spring of my being
is clotting before my eyes
How can I watch over
my terminally ill offspring
that I have nurtured
for millions of years?
Sister moon I never imagined
a age would come
that I would envy you
yet soul of my soul
I do......................
We two moons are imperceptibly
entwined with our worlds
with invisible silver chords
Yet yours is infused with life
and mine is death and decay
Author notes
I aimed to show that sometimes envy is justifiable when it's felt by a pure heart and for an understandable reason.

As usual you write amazing stuff. Your talent for writing poetry still shines. This is an excellent work of art.

WOW came to mind first, then the depth of the poem kind of sends your mind back for a second read. Excellent work, this was thought provoking Ink sister!!!!! Love it

Evny can be appropriate aft times. When one envies for the right reasons it can serve as a personal benefit making a motivation for that person to improve in personal goals, or other matters. Improper envy would be destructive rather than a benefit.
So far, I think your poems have a peacefulness to them, I like that.

You're absolutely right, I hadn't thought of envy being a motivating factor but I suppose it is!

You've shown well that on occasion it is acceptable to be envious.
I find that those sick should be allowed to envy those not, and so on
Thank you for entering my contest and good luck

Oh, my, this is painfully beautiful! I like the relationship you've painted between the moon and the sea, "soul of my soul" -- excellent! And although there is envy here, it is because of what we have done to her waters, her life blood, her children. So well done.
