Don't Go Alone (For Kasandra "infectedxheart")

We're living in a hollow lie.
A cold disease that we call life.
Emphasis on specific age.
Despite precautions, there is strife.

Is it sixteen years now gone by,
Or sixteen closer to demise?
That's such a pessimistic view,
To paint despair upon one's skies.

Sometimes, so overwhelmed we are,
We wish it all was but a dream.
But, despite the circumstances,
Things aren't as bad as they seem.

Trust that this world is very small,
And there are people to walk with you.
Whenever you can't go alone,
They'll be there to help you through.

Remember all those you hold dear;
Keep them with you, in your heart.
So even when they're nowhere near,
You're never very far apart.

Always think of the good times passed,
And make all of the good times last.

Author notes

Despite that it sounds sad-ish in the beginning, it's all about keeping hope. I'd have written you a more personal poem, but unfortunately I don't know you very personally...so this is all I have lol. Anyways, happy birthday!

Well, like I said, it was no problem. I'm glad you liked it.

& besides, you seem like a nice person, and looking at your page, you seem like someone that should be getting poems from others.

Of course, I told you I'd write you a poem. It took me a while, though. I wasn't sure if I'd get one finished, but this one came to me last night.
