A memory for me. 1-20-2009

Its thirty minutes until the inauguration and I couldn't be any happier or any more afraid.

I'm petrified that someone will do something stupid, and I'm happy because now I have hope.

I have CNBC on streaming the inauguration, and its beautiful.

We have the first black president America has ever elected about to be inaugurated and I am so proud.  I see Michelle, and the children, and I smile knowing he is diong all of this for them.

George Bush has just walked out and is heading out as his last half hour as president, he looks sad knowing how much we the people have disdain for him.  I am so happy he is gone.

I can't believe how emotional I am right now.  Obama came on the television and I literally began to cry and I feel like such an idiot, but I'm just so proud.

I got sick of the things there were saying in CNBC so I just switched to CNN which is just live coverage, no comments and that makes me happy.

I feel so mall sitting here in my pajamas and feel so small.
I put on real clothes in a hurry to get out here just in time for them to show Obama walking out.

Hehe Fienstein, that joke will never get old.

Aretha Franklin singing my country tis of thee isn't so great, but the piece with YoYo Ma in it is just amazing.  Its called "Air and simple gifts" and is just beautiful.

It is official Barrack is president.  According to the constitution at 12 noon no matter what, oath or not, the president elect becomes president.

Time for the oath of office, and he's laughing he is so happy.

He just finished his speech, its 12:25.
And it was beautiful, it was hope and he said a lot of important things, a lot that I expected.

The benediction is being delivered and it is over.

Thank you America.

Author notes

One my last day of high school I wrote done how I felt during the last thirty minutes. I decided to do it again today out of pride. I won't write during the speeches, but just before and aftermath. This wasn't meant to be beautiful, or poetry, just a memory for me

Seems interesting to write how you are feeling for a specific, short amount of time, and then go back and reexperience it...maybe I'll try it some time. I'd like to see what you wrote about high school, too--for me that would be more emotional than the inauguration, but this is still a great moment in history.
