A Bitter Chill Replaced

We stand facing a valley,
Still and quiet,
There is a chill.

Looking up at the starry sky,
A pale shine is reflected in your eyes,
Shinning brightly in the dark.

I take your hand,
So warm in this bitter chill.
And we stand,
Facing this valley.

There is a creek,
So soft and smooth,
I draw you closer,
Bringing me a little closer,
Closer to your warmth.

I feel your long hair brushing my shoulder,
Like the creek,
So soft and smooth
But still I am cold.

I can't take my eyes off you.
You turn to me and smile,
I look away,
Shied by your beauty,
The beauty of that smile,
Amplified in the moonlight.

You pull me closer,
Wrap you arms around my back,
And you stare into my eyes.
I stare back at yours,
Lost within their depth.

Our noses are slightly touching,
I feel you warm breath.
We are joined at the waist,
So close, so warm.

You tilt your head slightly,
Slowly getting closer.
As if to get a better look into my eyes,
Into my thoughts,
Into my heart.

Your head comes closer still, so close,
We look deeper into each others eyes.
Until our lips meet.
Your eyes close, as if they've found what they were looking for.

I raise my hands,
Slide them along your arms,
Your shoulder, until I am holding your back and your neck.

We stand,
Locked in an embrace,
Still and quiet,
There is only the two of us,
Your warmth and
A bitter chill replaced.

Great to see your entry in this contest. Welcome to AP. This is a poem of intimacy to share with the one who holds your heart. I feel the depth of emotion Just a few points to be aware of particularly when entering into a contest....In the line ' I take you hand' I presume you mean 'your hand' ... 'holing perhaps is holding.....typos the curse of all writers....know it is easy to miss mistakes like this when you know just what you are saying but as your reader I can only read the words you have penned .... We all do this from time to time Love the most naturally most powerful emotion we know combined in the perfection of nature...nice.

Thanks for your feedback. Typos always manage to get by me so thank you for pointing those out.
