encoiled
spirals into spirals
tight scaled sphere
claws folded
over sensitive opal eyes
shut against the day-star’s vengeful fingers.
already,
smoky shadow ribbons
purl misting off his
curled form, dry ice
under merciless
amber radiation radiance.
starlight talons shattered
into steam and embers
lunar armor smashed
into simple moon-dust
defeated
helpless.
too late
the night-dragon
rues his arrogance.
how could
the bald upright apes
have wrought this shining
sunlit trap?
