The Utopia

Colorless
Bland
Blind
Infinite grey

Steel mechanisms of a fake world
No comfort, burnt by smoke
The city of Ash, built upon garbage
Our apocolyptic belief

The control non-existant
The core of what we want
Our gluttony
Our need to consume

What do we really want?
Love, a fake lustful emotion
Wealth, the seed of our gluttony
To help our fellow man, but would they return the favor?

Marxism, doesn't work
Facaism, doesn't work
Capitalism, creates "inequality"
For what is utopia?

Let's paint the world grey
Bland
Blind
And infinitely empty

For without our existence
It is Utopia.

  • Hmm. Thought prokoving to say the least. I really like the structure of this write. Having short and long lines mixed adds a lot of emotion to this work. Great hob!

i'll agree with lowercase prelude and say this is one thought provoking and very nicely written piece. i love the way it repeats the first stanza again as the second to last. it makes the whole piece seem beautifully interwoven. nice work on this one. keep writing.
