Beached Black Swan

Missing image

relative to music
Is a black swan that stays after dark

there, but unseen,
known, but unknown

a crack in dawn so heavenly music
slips through

a choir vocalizing the “Moonlight Sonata”

and your foot pressed against mine
still sings ginger-haired harmony

to that moment with you
when my back arched
on high notes
and sunk low
into a lullaby
that will hold me

after the final rest
beached in weeds of loss

Stunning poem, Carol.. I love the lines 'a crack in dawn so heavenly music slips through' and yes, it would be Moonlight Sonata that would be playing.. (One of my most favorite pieces).. Thank you very much, I enjoyed it immensely..
