I may be lost in my life
as a bird out of herd,
battered, banished, hurt.
There may be no light seen even
far ahead of my horizon of hope,
I may be a defeated person
yet I cannot call life a hell.
There are many, not like me,
scintillating, happy, dreaming
and successful in this very life.
Science and religion are often
blamed to be the causes of
destruction of precious lives.
Science is used to make weapon,
fundamentalists use them for killing.
Water in river is used in irrigation,
cities are built on its bank,
the same water causes flood ruining life.
The creation is like a garden
having all kinds of flowers,
none of them is bad.
Those who know how to use it
make a heaven out of life,
who cannot blames
water as they slip and fall.

Great reaction to a very interesting prompt.
All your usual devices, like strong imagery and sweeping sociological statements, make this a very enjoyable and enlightening read.
Good luck in contest my friend!
