Summer Rain

In the pouring rain
she runs barefoot
with tears running down her cheeks
not able to think

He was there for her
running straight into his arms
the summer rain pours down
as she buries her head in his chest

Words spill out
but her cry smothers her words
as she pushes her long brown hair from her face
she looks up at him

Taking his hand he moves her hair from her face
with sparkling welcome brown eyes
they connect, with a single small kiss
then back staring at each other

Humid now with the rain stopping
hand and hand they walk
back to her home
where she lives with her mother

He has helped her forget
her troubled thoughts
with barefeet she steps into home
and he leaves her til tomorrow

Please tell me what you think
