Taking Over

Missing image
my brother and his wife
moved into our house
to help us out

Now I am ready for them
too disappear forever
because his wife
is taking over

Nothing new can come in
the house without her knowing
When catching sight of it
she start complaining

She drives me and mom insane
We just want to run away
because she makes us feel
like we are 2 feet high

We pray everyday
that my dad will get a job
and my sister in law
will become history

Help us get through this time
I pray almost everyday
That is the only way
I keep from blowing up

She's taking over
and I hate the thought
of this happening
but it is

Author notes

My sister-in-law is taking over the house and it is ticking me off.

Please tell me what you think

Talk about stress! I would not be able to tolerate that living arrangement at all. I hope things have improved and you have sucessfully booted her out by now. LOL Great job! Blessings, Patty

  • i can relate to your poem very much. too many people living in one house is overwhelming and stressful. hope things are better now? thank you for sharing your thoughts and frustrations.

  • Sounds like a bad dream!

That you wish you could wake up from...

I am sorry you are going through this. I hope that things are better now. I don't like people who take over either. That happened to me when my father brought in a companion when my mom was dying.

This person took over and now; it is years later, my father passed away and I am dealing withthis person trying to take my inheritance from me - my own family's inheritance to me...

Some people really take advantage of things.

p.s. the drawing of the stressed-out cat is great because it so expresses our feelings when we reach the limit of what we can endure...

Gosh, I know how you feel! Sounds like it's time for you to draw the line and set some boundaries around the house. Someone that takes over anything in your life can sometimes be very dangerous. It's just a matter of time before they find other outlets to control like money and family. Take care and good luck to you! I hope that it all works out!

It can be so hard when you live with family especially for such a long time. I will keep praying that your brother and sister-in-law will move out and then maybe things will get back to normal and I will also keep your father in my prayers in finding employment. Try to hang in there I know it is hard. hugs Theresa

For one moment I thought this was going to be about Matt Smith taking over the role of Doctor Who! But no, it's about the principle that familiarity breeds contempt. How true!

  • hahaha i liked this one quite a bit, ive had a similer problemb with roommates, it really sucked when my mom invted her friend to come live with us
