Not the Same

When I look in a blue pool of nature
Or ponder over the ocean's curls
I wonder why mirrors aren't the same
When you're looking at little boys and girls

The waters reflect the beauty that surrounds
And you can peer deep inside
But when you look in a mirror all that you see
Is the goodness of heart trying to hide

It shows your freckles, your eyes, your smile
And your hair on which you've spent so much time
But what good does it do if you're wicked inside
If there's no good left to climb

If your heart has no depth and your soul has no flow
Do you see what kind of person you became?
If outer beauty is the only thing that shows
Nature's mirror is Not the Same...

i love the phrases that u use! you are indeed a really gifted poet!! I like the accusation tone in this!! There is a tinge of pain expressed here! I loved it! The background is super annoying!!

OMG I LOVE THE BACKGROUND!!! i usually hate moving backgrounds as i think it really distracts from the poem but i absolutly LOVE bubbles and rainbows ^_^ and what is also odd, is that i saved the picture you used on my comp the other day whilst browsing through google rofl anyway onto the poem! i lvoe the imagery and youre ending is wonderful, brilliant write and may... may i pwease steal the background? I want my desktop on my computer bubbles!

    love it!

love the way you wrote nature, beaches, the last 2 paragraphs had a lot of meaning. I could identify with the last paragraph, I had to deal with someone like this, and still have to sometimes. natures mirror is not the same, beauty is only skin deep.

You're blowing my mind! I can't believe someone so young wrote this, haha. Your take on the picture is unique...most people would have just looked at the surface, haha, and it's ironic now when you read the poem!

Excellent. What a beautiful poem for the picture. I love the childlike take on the picture. I also loved how you really used the reflection of the water as a mirror to one's inner soul and beauty verses one's outer beauty. Beautiful rhyme, rhythm and flow. Just loved it and best wishes in the contest.

    Wishing You Many Blessings,
