Fortified, Gratified, Satisfied and Ratified

While sitting on the deck, holding a cup of steaming brew,
I gaze at the colors and soaring towers—
lush green fir trees amid pink, purple and fuchsia flowers—
birds and squirrels chattering 'neath skies of blue,
and I see God's glorious beauty and awesome power.
How could anyone see this and be a shrew?
As I view the scene, I recall my daughter's description,
"Oh, Mom, this is so gorgeous; it's God's haven!"
And it is to me, I muse while watching a large raven,
my heart filled with peace: Christ's perfect depiction,
which no artist ever captures in images graven;
for he paints or carves by finite restriction.
I don't own this refuge but care for it by God's sweet grace,
knowing that next year I'm expected to leave;
yet, the bargain could change 'tween now and then, for I believe.
Why, Betty's son might say, "Stay on in Mom's place!"
What a blessing if I could remain 'til Christ retrieves me,
lifts me to heaven to see our Father's face.
It is safe here in the mountain's forest but not in town,
so God's love put me here to be fortified;
though having little but with much to do, I'm gratified
and so satisfied, quite unable to frown.
I smile and sip coffee, knowing I'll soon be ratified
and evil will lose grip on Christ's well earned crown.

One can only feel humble at the vastness of Creation
Earth is the beloved of the Creator, this is why He says 'I will destroy those destroying Earth"
An exellent write

Thank you, dear one, for the encouraging words. The assignment that began a year and a half ago is a tough one; BUT, I do know that God will give me a break at precisely the right time.
Luv & hugs, BonnieQ

... and here I am in the middle of asking for an assignment directly from Him, cause I no longer want to do my own thing, it never pans out...smile...when I move in step with Him, all will be well for me.

Indeed, it did feel like a little piece of heaven while it lasted. Alas, God had another assignment for me and that meant moving yet again. Whew! I'll be so glad when He gives me a break from this one.

Luv & hugs, Bonnie!

Hiya Sis,
This is so peaceful. I remember the first time you published this. I truly hoped you could stay there for a much longer time than you did. You were so happy there. But God had a mission for you where you are now.
I pray all is well. I am real busy this time of the year with final exams and grades. But tomorrow both Bill and I are off so I am looking forward to a peaceful day with him and my pups.
Love and hugs always.

As you say, my darling sister, God had a mission for me and, to date, I still do not know where it is going.
BUT, we both know He will not allow me to suffer much longer. He never does.
It was so peaceful out there at Betty's. Miss that a lot. You enjoy Bill and the puppies tomorrow!
Tons of luv & hugs & prayers, SisBon
