Lord take all of my desire to be
living my life for no one but me
many others have less than I do
lead me Lord that I might help them through

Every second whisper in my ear
keep me in the light and make it clear
focusing my mind so I can't stray
please Lord, do not let me drift away

All I have you've given to me free
when I'm selfish I forget to be
your creation till I seek your peace
then and only then my trials cease

Long as I serve you my life is whole
this servants heart you gave is never full
except when I am seeking constantly
to reach out with the hands you've given me

Lord, I know your love is always there
freely you have given and I'll share
your love through my every act and deed
to live for you is all I want or need.

Recently, I've been occupied with thinking about what it meant to serve God. In my capacity, it was always as a volunteer. Recently, I might have forgotten that and felt empty and unhappy because of it. But, it always comes down to reaffirming the truth to get me back on track and out of the dumps.
