A baby's silken touch of innocence
electrifies the soul
in a moment of pure bliss
No malice resides within that grasp
no doubt, no uncertainty,
years away from shame and hesitance.
What past brought this life to be
matters naught in the moment,
when eyes converse.
Author notes
Who can look into the eyes of a newborn baby and not feel the joy of a new life flow out of them. When that child is your own and you can only converse with your eyes but feel the bond growing even then, it makes it all the more moving...this is what your contest inspried Renee- I hope it is up to your standards.

My husband and me are called "baby stalkers" by our adult children. We actually argue over who gets the baby when we visit or they come to us to visit. I love children and yes, most assuredly, "babies" are a joy! Thanks you for the heartfelt-inspiration this poem gives the reader. I wish you well in this challenge.
Much Love & Respect ♥
Renee
