My heart is a dying rose
withered and dry
for you've drifted away from me
like a depleted brook
no longer cooling my desire
in the heat of the day
My roots secrete the dust of exhaustion
being overwhelmed by the sorrows
of brokenness
for you came to me as a flower
effervescent with the scent of love
and beguiled me
Now I wander in the loneliness
of endless yearning
praying you'd have mercy upon
my wounded soul
for I need you as living things
need air to breath and water
to drink
I bid you be mine once more
for I am nothing without you
we are meant to be my love
twin as wed forever,
for you are my earth, wind
and utmost desire
