Awful Sweet

To be a little butterfly...
Make a note, keep the date
Let's go somewhere together
little butterfly

Threading through our destinations
Looking for the little puddle of youth

Longing for silenced lips to
Underwhelm the beating hearts-I wonder
What the the heartbeat of a
little butterfly is like?

I'd love to know how
Icy spiderwebs feed their frozen,
Teary, lonely spiders, little butterfly
...But I bet you know?

You'd be the kind to thread
Through their slippy fortress
You're so cute-the spiders would
All cling to you-little butterfly

You're so cute.

Author notes

Wordbank Words Used:
1) Note, 2) Destination(s) 3) Puddle, 4) Longing, 5) Silence(d) 6) Icy, 7) Spider(s) 8) Thread, 9) Fortress

Much thanks to the wonderful contest-maker for the contest! The little butterfly quote caught me, I looked up the song, and I wrote a poem for the wordbank. Haven't written much lately. (In a few months...)

I added suffixes to a few of the words and the actual written poem is only 19 lines. If that isn't okay with you, let me know or DQ me or whatever your policy is.

Hope all of you like it ^-^ (If you want to know what it's about, feel free to say so)
Lots of credit given to Spring Awakening, the musical, and its song: "Don't Do Sadness".

    GREATNESS WITH A G

Meredith!!! This...poem.....rocks. If I had to use those words in a poem, you would have to shield your eyes.

But dude, this is awesome. Glad to see you're writing, I missed you and it!

    YAY! John Adams wrote something!

I love the last line...and the last stanza in general.

I love the title too...it's a nice controdiction.

Good luck in the contest! You had better not be DQed! *glares at contest owner menacingly*
