"Human immunodeficiency virus is caught
by transfer of bodily fluids from an infected
person, have you shared needles, had sex
or shared other bodily fluids recently?
Are those tattoo's new?"
"No."
"Well, I'm sorry to say the lab results came
back..
My life crumbled
I was another statistic in this endemic
I'd caught the "gay disease"..
Hah! What sort of
close minded
moron
idiot
stupid
ignorant
..Person, decides to start such a thing?
Stonewall, we need more stonewalls..
Homosexuals are so persecuted, why!?
Animals do it, right?
""Yeh, for how long?"
Still talking, she is so
detached
from me, just another MD
How many pills?!
How am I going to tell my Dad?
What will I tell my girlfriend?!
When will I start suffering from AIDS?
And I was safe!.. I used protection!
I might as well just give up.
£12,000 a year in drugs?
Can I honestly say I am worth that much?
I don't even pay that much in taxes.
Someone else is paying to keep me alive.
The virus wont kill me..
I know who will.

Sad but written so well. It gives a new view for people, mainly for people who never pay attention.
Thank you.

I loved this poem, so sad, yet so well written. I know that stigma, i seen it happen when someone with aids walks into a hospital, as soon as people catch wind of it, they avoid them at all costs...very well done.

Very well done. It is a shame that the disease was unleashed on humanity by well-meaning MDs who took a shortcut on vaccine preparation in order to save lives.
You have presented an excellent viewpoint on the disease.

This was a very deep and intense piece of writing. Your feelings were laid out and made the reader really understand what this disease is all about. At least I hope the readers do.
Well written...
Thank you for your entry..good luck

The form u used is unique and I like it! The stigma and prejudices are apparent in this write. You put the reader right in the shoes of a person findibg out and that's what we need. To bring it home! Thank u and good luck!
