Growing into myself

Standing in my fathers bedroom
watching him lather his face
getting rid of his five o clock shadow.

Put on his dress shirt
that is ten times too big
throw his tie around my neck
stepping into his wing tip shoes.

Father looked into the mirror
laughing "What are you doing little man?"
looking down and seeing the tip of his shoes
seeing I have clown feet reply

"Just waiting to grow into myself."

    Great stuff...

A reflective narrative imparting a moment in time...
Endearing in its innocence & rememberance of better childhood times... At least this is what I got from it...
Enjoyable write that made me smile...
    Well done!!!
