stockings and hose

In reply to a question
  that came from behind
the lady in glasses
  attempted to find
'I realise perhaps its strange to see
but we had to find ways
of raising money'
  Approached by a new line in
stockings and hose
  with the promise of pounds
well, our hopes soared and rose
  but of course this small
task would be helped right
  along by a couple of tots
and a jig and a song'
