Prismatic jewels escaped tortured eyes,
blackest velvet as dying rose;
she wept for sorrow's sake
in his absence and decided death.
Left to wonder
if carrying on is worse
than death;
is she betraying him,
his existence?
And so she waits,
eyes out to sea;
salted diamonds mixing with the foam.
Alone and bewildered,
lost and self-loathing;
content with the darkness and cold.
Until forever, she waits
at his departing,
rainbows morphed into storm clouds;
carried on the wings of ravens,
his death holds no comfort.
Mourning calls eclipse her heart,
the last wilting petal fallen;
death has won this battle.
{she lost herself in shadow long ago}

This is wonderful.
I apologize for the lateness
I like what you did with the prompt
The emotion came through very well.
Thank you for your entry
