Sleeping beauty has
a different meaning
when it is truly a corpse
that lay there sleeping.
Skin so pale
so as to see the
anatomy behind the
surface of skin;
lips so red, still
stained with the blood
from her latest kill.
Holding roses
of her favorite color
she loves to look
like a princess on her
deathbed, and even lays
upon black silk
whilst sleeping away the days.
Sleeping beauty who
loves to kill
can take your heart
and your blood will fill
her everlasting thirst
that will last for centuries on
unless she meets her match which would be a first.

I enjoyed this alot. It is a nice re-write of the old fairy tale and certainly casts the slumbering princess in a new light.

For a vampire poem, I thought this was well written. I wasn't expecting it to turn out as it did, which I suppose is a bonus. This was a good write, and I enjoyed it and the picture. Excellent work and good luck in my contest.
