I wish you could look at me and see me, truly
to see the look of pure devotion and delight
the look of heart-wrenching adoration and love
to glimpse the tilted smile only you can bring

I wish you could hear my voice, for what it really is
ringing clear and sweet, or whispering slow and deep
instead of a shallow husky monotone whisper
painfully disguised by 100 kilometers of distance

I wish you could feel the warmth of my hand beside yours
letting you know I'll always stand beside you
or the soft rhythmic thud of my heart, lovingly given to you
letting you know that wherever where your heart happens to be
my heart will always be yours, no matter what

some day I'll see you, and maybe steal a hug
but there's a catch, I couldn't let go
