Looking in the mirror,
I didn’t recognize the face.
The girl who stared back at me
Owned a stranger’s face.
Staring in her eyes
My heart utterly sank.
The life she’d owned was crushed.
Like waves on the bank.
She saw no future
In those bright green eyes.
The girl lost inside
Had begun her own demise.
Shattering that glass
I vowed then and there
The past I had wasted
Would hurt me no more.
Back at the beginning
My heart is regrowing.
The days will be hard
But the prize will be showing.
Letting it go.
Starting again
The new way of me
Begins with this pen…
I'm trying to get back in a writing mode...

I like this one too. Very interesting, a self discovery type poem. It flows well and you can feel the emotion in the words. Very well done Jazz.
