Purple Perfection

I touched the dark purple flower
Luscious in all it's full, round petals
And long, green, fuzzy-looking stem
I touched it's petals softly, velvet feel
My finger traced it back and forth, fuzz
I felt it's fuzzy padding fragile but thick
Softer than the best made cotton shirt
It's shape a roundish feel with satin edge
I slowly grazed my finger down the stem
Fuzzy, but not soft, more prickly I'd say

Gently, I lifted it to my nose, the smell
was beautiful a light airy kind of scent
Sweet, richly fragrant at the same time.
Filling me with serenity and lingering
Thoughts of when I was a child,playing
In a far off field of wild plants roaming
As I thought of the days of hide and seek
Within the  tall grass and pretty flowers.

I looked at the flower in my shaded hand
This flower was the most perfect flower.
Out of all in my giant garden, purple
Purple waves of perfection on every
Single petal.Truly a sight to behold!

This is filled with such vivid imagery. I could feel what you felt as I imagined my finger tracing the fuzzy, prickly stem ... nice job!

The first stanza would make a good opening for a romance novel...nice description! I liked how you lead us to its last line...and the sensory devices tickle the mind. I read it a few times...relaxing

"Filling me with serenity and lingering" is my favourite line...probably because of the flow and its introduction to a scene I can only dream of...

The third stanza gives us the satisfaction of admiring the magnified beauty in a small and simple thing.

It's wonderful how your writing always seems so positive and serene whatever the subject. There is sadness...but only as a backdrop against which we can see ourselves more clearly, and to identify the wonders that make life worth living.

    Really nice piece.

So sweet and touching here, you're a flower itself, this is your reflection
