Dusk the time when the life of the day meets the death of the night,
The time when silence’s hunger feeds on the noise of day.
New sounds emerge through the stillness and
Eyes appear like stars through the forest trees.
The forest floor begins to stir with life
As the trees hide the killers of the night.
Dusk the time when the death of night wakes a new world
A moon rising, gives an eerie light too eyes of death.
Atop a ridge a silhouette walks and stops at the edge,
With head thrown back it raises a voice.
Howling low and deep, it sends its call
As if asking the moon to show the way.
To light the path to it’s prey.
Dusk where two worlds seem to collide,
A world of life giving way to a world of death.
Where predator meets prey and
The cries of pain and despair rise.
Peace descends when dusk dies giving rise to the night,
Night the veil that hides a killers find.
