They were opposites
She was a rich uptown girl
And he
He was a small town boy
She was a girl
Whose parents
Had massive hopes and dreams
For her
He was a boy
Who was a grafter
And whose father
Was proud of him whatever he did
She was merely 17
And told she was far too young
To know anything about life or love
But they were wrong
They together
Were a summer romance
Which turned into
A life long romance
And together
They proved the world wrong
They proved that opposites do attract
And that they can last.
