Valentines love
A day amongst the 359 left
To count
A day of pouring hearts so deceivingly
With love
And who the Hell is Valentine
To claim a day for his own
To me it sounds ridiculous
With all the fuss they make about it
This world knows not of love
They hate each other`s guts
And then
Pretend and say,
I love you
Maybe it`s right and fits them well
To love each other
Once a year
For, for the rest they loath
In hate, and murder
Each other.

A wonderful poem with an insight on how pesimistice the day for love really is. It only makes the card companies and the florists money. You are right, true love should be expressed everyday of the year, not once a year. Excellent write and great message. Take care, Sandy

Whoa! Spot On!
I do believe, Nick, that you struck that nail spot on and drove home the obvious point. While this should stick in their graws, it's more likely you will get blasted for speaking the truth. Truth is, this is a festival for commercial profit, nothing more, and another reason to receive a gift underserved.

Valentine love is no love, its an emotional sickness.
Emotion is not love.
Emotion can be hateful hearted, savage and crude and dark.
Where there is love there is light.
These silly icons are as ugly as they are troublesome.

There is much truth in what you write, there is so much bitterness in life today, some with good reason...This Valentines I will spend alone as my partner has passed, but it is nice to have someone to cuddle, regardless of what day we are celebrating...lonliness is heartbreaking...good luck in my contest...

Love should be shown every day, you are right, there are times if someone doesn't get the gift they should from a mate, or don't have a mate at all and here they cause depression and negative things when it is something that should be expressed always. Nice write. Blessings.
