"Wee-oo wee-oo"
The siren cries
And a little child
rubs her eyes.
Mom and Dad
are whispering fast
And suddenly
she hears a blast
The orange light
stings her eyes
and out of terror
she cries and cries
Mom and Dad
hustle her out
but another blast
makes her shout
Where's her sister?
Out with the hens?
Where's her brother
who ran away again?
Another bomb
rattles the room
and again and again
more ear shattering booms
"Where should we hide?"
Her mother asks
As they hear
Another blast.
"Under a table!
Under a chair!
As long as we all live,
I don't really care!"
One more bomb
that lands next door
caves in the girl's
second floor
Dad is buried
Mom is dead
The little girl
is hit in the head
Come on leaders
Can't you see?
They need your help
so desperatly
All this terror
and every scream
Keeps on going
while we just dream.

Very Deep!
I don't think man can release man from captivity, but I loved the poem. I pictured everything.
It is sad, but you described the scene here very well.
I think that it's sad some have to lose their
lives, but in the end I believe God will
end all war. -
Your emotions are in the right place. The Israeli actions in Gaza are unpardonable. Let us hope that those resposnible will be put on trial for war crimes. But don't hold your breath. Obama's not THAT brave.

This is awesome! Why is the world so stupid sometimes? Or all the time...
You have a lot of good emotion here. YAY! KT!

I completely understand and care about Gaza and Isreal. It makes me want to cry. I loved your poem. It is very touching and poetic. Although I believe only God will be able to create world peace, it is a nice poem to read. Thanks for sharing.
