Actions become dust on the hands
and are blown away by cutting winds
when deeds were done for recognition
or as salve to fractured conscience
Carry my burden to ease my breaking back
not to polish your tin halo
If you do it other than to aid me
you will drop it on my fragile bones
The mirror you carry is a large moon
and eclipses your shadow
where there is charcoal wisdom
if you could only see it
Unseen moments in dark corners
are times of transformation
Abscent from torches light
we weave our fibre
Perceive the kaleidoscope
Your reflection scattered
a billion times
Smash it and become one

"The mirror you carry is a large moon and eclipses your shadow"
This line is brilliant. I felt your words and their honesty and even the ignorance of others.
Thank you for entering and good luck in the contest

Wonderful take on pride.
I loved every stanza!
I especially love "Carry my burdens to ease my breaking back, not to polish your tin halo"
Good luck. :]

Very well done -- this just took my breath away. I especially liked -- oh, heck, -- I went back to take a couple of lines as example, and I couldn't decide! They are all good, wonderfully descriptive with unusual comparisons. I enjoyed this very much.
