My confession

My confession

Dear Heath,

I have a secret that I want to tell you about
now don’t get mad at me or yell and shout!
Because what’s done is done no matter what
it’s in the past, I have to bear the lot.

Remember the day we went for a drive?
The wind in our hair, it felt good to be alive.
Over the hills that lovely summers day
we declared our love is here to stay.

We had a meal sitting by the beach
smiling you leaned across-my hand to reach
and then you placed a ring in my right hand,
you said it was your Mums wedding band.

I wore it the day we wed with so much pride
it was the happiest day I became your bride
to love you always was the vow that I made
as love like ours it will always make the grade.

I have to tell you I lost the ring one night
It slipped off my finger out of sight.
You were away I searched everywhere
no matter where I looked it wasn’t there.

I went to pawn shop to see if it’s been sold
“It isn’t here my dear.” is what I was told.
I looked through his rings, saw one not quite
the same, one that would help me with my plight.

So Heath I have to tell you it’s been mislaid
and though you have to know I’m so afraid
because it was your Mothers ring I lost
I’d find it if I could at any cost.

    I've read the poems of Heath to you, about you. You have nothing to worry about, that fella would forgive you anything. I'd forgive the woman I loved anything, even spilling Moxie...no wait, I could get another woman, but you can't ever get back a spilled Moxie!

    heath's a kindhearted fellow just bake him a pie when you tell him. It would work for me.

    How awful for you! Most of us have at one
    time or another lost something precious to us.
    Sometimes we find it and sometimes we don’t.
    I wouldn’t give up just yet.
    Good luck in Contest #40.

    I lost mine before my marriage ended, I felt bad, still do, for I wanted to keep it and give to Tess. I keep losing jewelery, last one was a bracelet that came with a necklace, for that one I'm even sadder
    I'm sure he will forgive you, probably will be very mad at first, but he loves you and will get over
    It does feel good to get things like that confessed, doesn't it

    It is terrible when you loose something that you have been given.
    But I bet you feel better now
    I can see all is well.
    wonderfully done & best of luck

    I have felt that shock when I realized that I wasn't wearing my ring and I didn't know where it was. This is a sweet poem of your sad confession, and all you did to amend the loss. I enjoyed reading, and understand there is a happy conclusion. Best of luck!

    Dear Hine, I'm so glad to hear that Heath had found the ring you thought you'd lost. You may need to have a band where you can tighten it so it won't fall off again. I'm glad we spoke on the phone tonight, you sound much happier.

    Love Jen

    My darling Hine,

    You needn't have concerned yourself because Ma's ring was lost
    though the sentimental value of it far outweighs the cost.
    You couldn't help the fact that it had slithered off your hand
    but I would have hoped you'd realise that I would understand.

    And you should know I love you so that I would never blame
    or rouse on you although the ring you're wearing's not the same.
    My mother's ring was gold with genuine diamonds set first class
    while the pawn shop ring has zircons and is only made of brass.

    I think that your confession, dear, is really rather funny
    for I found Ma's ring upon the floor right there beside the dunny.
    So please stop fretting, darling, put the matter from your head....
    here is your ring. Strip off your clothes and let's hop into bed!

    Best of luck in the voting. I'll vote for you.
    Applause, love and uno what XXXOOO

      Oh thank you my Darling Heath, you come straight home from Hugh's and I'll come home from Betty's. And you can put the ring back on my finger when we hop into bed. and till I get there.
      Love Hine.

    Oh, I was waiting for the happy ending,
    Heath finding it and presenting it to you again,
    or the twist, that the original had been purchased,
    not a family heirloom. But no, the sad story
    stays in place, a sweet and emotional confession.

    A tender tale, so well told.

      Dear M-C he hasn't mentioned anything to me yet! I'm still waiting to see if I'm forgiven. Maybe you're right and it's not his Mothers ring, but he better put me out of my misery soon!

    Ahhh, Hine, it's sad that you lost the ring. I know it was special to both of you but things happen sometimes that we just can't change. I know how Heath feels about you and he has a forgiving soul, so try not to worry.
    I'm sure that when he read this he forgave you in spite of his feelings about the ring

    A good poem, and I wish you best in the contest

    G'Day Hine, Ohhh boy! Wait until Heath reads this! His Mothers ring would be precious to him, but so are you and he won't risk losing you so you'll be ok, he'll forgive you because it can happen to anyone. Lovely poem.

    Dear Hine, I'm sure Heath will understand and it could be covered under insurance, but that doesn't replace the sentimentality of the ring. If he rouses on you let me know.
    Great poem though dear Niece.

    Dear Hine,

    I wondered what had made you look so contemplative lately
    for I could see that some catastrophe distressed you greatly.
    You looked concerned and troubled and I missed your lovely smile
    and thought maybe that Heath had failed to please you for a while.

    But from your verse I see the reason's worse than anything
    and you were pretty crafty to replace his mother's ring.
    Well, Edna's ring's gone missing too. it fell of just the same
    and of course, with slimming fingers, she cannot be held to blame.

    A most exhaustive search of every likely place we carried
    but now she doesn't have a wedding ring to show she's married.
    Perhaps the vacuum got it and it's in the rubbish bin?
    You girls should drink more beer and then your fingers won't get thin.
    ~~~
    I tell Edna the neighbours probably gossip that we're 'living in sin' LOL. Anyway, knowing how much Heath loves you, I hope he isn't too upset and doesn't take it out on Fluffy!
    Applause, love and hugs and good luck in the voting.
    XXX Hugh (R.)
