Don't treat me like that.
I'll be your safe-harbor,
Your place of comfort.
In the cold
I'll be your flame
Of warmth.
For this one winter
Be here beside me.
Author notes
Seems like a love poem...I know. It's supposed to be more like a friendship thing...
I swear, the books I'm reading influence my writing. My class is reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" and all I could think of in this poem is African American prejudices. Sigh.
This is supposed to be 30 words...but it's 34. Oops. I couldn't find anyway to shorten it. I'm really really sorry and understand if you DQ me.
