A Cat and Mouse World

 

you are so small

I’ll watch over you

never fear for I am here

 

though we may differ

our life’s not the same

we can still enjoy each other

 

you have your house

just inside my wall

I see you peeking out your door

 

don’t be afraid

for I watch out for you

just be yourself for all to see

 

your heart is brave

and heart’s what counts

after all is said and done

 

see how easy it is

to get along with each other

love and tolerance is the key

 

a friendly cat

a mighty mouse

you be you and I’ll be me

    ha, what a great title to entice people in and then a great poem once clickd, i grew up with tom and jerry cartoons, though nthose were quite violent, this poem of yours has a much softer side - saying friendship and i will watch out for you, what a corker of a poem, i am sure loads of my age will relate, not sure of the younger kids though as they are brought up on pokemon and transformers and such with cartoon lol but i rememeber the tom and jerry ones

    Hungry?

    Hunger seems to be the defining force in cases like this. Science should be trying to find alternative ways of feeding carnivores so they don't have to eat each other. Very thought provoking, Dee, as is all your writing

    That is sweet, and of course the bigger message is for people who have diffrent personalities to get along with each other. There's a French phrase for that? What is it? Viva la difference? Something like that. Celebrate the differences between us.

    Your words make the background stand out Dee. I am so happy that you were pleased enough with it to create the words that adorn this page. Yes! We must be tolerant with our differences. Diversity makes us the flower garden that God planted to flourish on the Earth!

    Oh, Dee, this is lovely.
    This makes me think of a friend of mine. We're pretty much opposites in every conceivable way, like a cat and mouse, and yet we manage to be good friends. (We just don't discuss politics, lol).

    So much in the simple beauty of your words. Well done!

      I'd forgotten I still had this up... i didn't make it, though, my friend on here made it for me... poetryality. I love it and posted it here as a test and kinda forgot it was here. I need to write a real poem to use it on.
      A link to poetryality's work is in my author notes. She's a wonderful poet, too and makes other backgrounds.

      Hi, Renee I love the background and so glad you did it for me. I'm working on thinking up a poem for it... a haiku would be nice for it, I think, I'll come up with something. I tried getting it to the left but couldn't figure it out and kept getting the other side borders with it, which I didn't like. Maatkara happened to be online and you were gone for awhile so I asked her about it. she ended up doing it for me and explained how to do it. I have the instructions somewhere in my messages so will find them and IM them to you or you could even ask her when she's online (she's not right now though)

      I suppose I should take my little test post down but I like the compliments I get on it I'll work on a poem for it today
