Israeli sends out its shaloms;
Gaza's Children meet their fate,
Victims of Israeli hate.
See the arid desert bloom!
Gaze at Gaza, now a tomb!
Watch the starshells in the sky!
Listen to the children die!
Twinkle, twinkle, Gaza's slums;
Israel's lies and booming guns;
Orphaned children, today's tears;
Hamas' martyrs - future years.
Palestine, don't give up hope
Although you're just a TV soap;
Israel may win the bloody field
But a second holocaust is sealed.
Author notes
Israeli cruelty to the poor tragic people of Gaza will probably have an even more tragic end-result, as a new generation of Muslim terroists is born to jihad. And the current US administration, with the silent connivance of so many other governments, must take its share of the blame. Let us hope Obama will curb the Israeli thirst for blood.

I have hope that Obama will change a lot of things. But you can't blame other nations for everything. Change happens from within not without. Thanks for sharing the poem. It was a good interesting write that you have.

Well-crafted with excellent rhymes and meter, nothing forced to match some word choice. Your anger simply springs out of your lines. I believe there is fault on both sides, and the religious bias results in both hamas and israeli children born into and taught to hate. However, it is important that we in the U.S. hear and contemplate more concerning the Palestine suffering.

All War and killing is wrong,
both sides are at fault as far as I'm concerned.
Thanks for the entry,
and Jesus gift would be...??? -

Jesus' gift?

I take it you didn't even bother to look at the title of the contest?
A gift for Jesus is the prompt. -
-
The gift to Jesus was 1500 dead Arab souls.

I wouldn't have removed this if it had been a contest on the atrocities being done in the Israeli/Palestinian war, or any war for that matter, but this wasn't the theme of this contest.
Being rude is just lowering self to war-mongers levels.
Entering a GIFT to Jesus of slaughtered people, Arabs, or otherwise, is just plain rude.
I am not on this site to bicker with other poets and their ideals.
I have just as much right to my beliefs and opinions as you do,
and to my knowledge, I have never infringed on any of your contests,
I would like the same consideration.

This is graphic and violent, but less so than the atrocities being visited on children. Deliberate bombing of hospitals and schools cannot be justified by any human measurement. I am glad to read this, and hope that the words of poets can do something to raise awareness of the obscenity of war.

In the name of God we shall
kill...
that's all I have to say!
