The cord was severed, first time I was born
second time it couldn’t, the Lord’s is so strong,
like an anchor through calm and through storm
forever connected, He’s the source of my song;
The sound that cord made, heard the earth round
when Jesus plucked me out from Satan’s hand,
the angels then answered in chorus unbound
redemption’s chorus played out in Beulah land;
His blood for my sin sick soul, the law's demand
from the foundations El Shaddai chose to bleed,
though some may forget, I'm inscribed on His hands
on His mercy and faithfulness each day I shall feed.
