Character Profile Of Rhyn
Name: Unknown to everyone, even herself, except Ikaris
UPDATE: Shortly after being hired by Ikaris as a bodyguard, Rhyn and Imp got in to a verbal fight, which ended with Imp calling her Nat'asyshin, which is Rhyn's true first name. Though not all of her name. Which s something that even Ikaris may not know, given that part of her name is from her demon side.
Nickname: Rhyn (She took that from her race, the Rhynoulta Elves, because even though she detests them, that is the only part/name of her past she can remember.)
Age/age appeared to be: Real age in unknown. She appears to be about 16-18 in age.
(Due to her immense healing abilities which lead to her not aging hardly at all, and tendency to wander off on her own, Rhyn has a tendency to lose track of time easily. She has no idea of what age she actually is, other then that she knows she is quite old. In truth she is about 900)
Race: Rhynoulta Elf, though she was cast out at a young age
- Humanoid form:
Rhyn is a half Rhynoulta elf, what the other half is she doesn't even know. She has the same same basic structure of an elf, with the small, light frame, and pointed ears. She stands at 5' 3” and 110 lbs. he is well endowed with respect to her female side, and likes to show it off the best she can. Her skin is quite pale, not much different from that of a human. Because of her mixed heritage, she could pass for human, but as much as she despises her own people, she is still fiercely proud of what she is, and takes it as an insult if you call her anything but an elf.
- Demon form:
She has a demon half, that he can use when necessary, though she likes keeping it hidden. Everyone who has seen it, has died. Except for Ikaris, being the one person who helped her to discover that side of herself, and to train it. She keeps it secret for the main fact that she herself doesn't know what it is, only Ikaris does, and she won't tell her. And anything that she doesn't know, she hates.
Her demon self in essence is a 'Shinigami', a soul taker. In her demon form she has the ability to ripe the soul out of any living being. When transformed, most of Rhyn's skin is replaced by bone. She becomes several inches taller, standing about 5'8”. Her collar bones, feet, elbows and shins take on sharpened bone blades. She looks very much the part of any typical Shinigami, and has all of their attributes as well.

Description of Usual Clothing: (Provided by the former Lady Ikaris Mayhem Psyk)
Oriental style tunic. Has an open neck and a deep V-line on the front. Its form fitting to her waist, where it splits wide on either side from waist to floor. The shoulders are open in a slight V on either side as well, to mimic the open front. The full length sleeves then gather loosely at her mid bicep, it opens up again at her elbow, and is slit wide open from there down. The tunic is a deep violet, trimmed in black. She wears it over black leather pants, and knee high black boots (which feature a hidden three inch razor sharp blade in each toe, and double sheaths for daggers in each one)
On her left bicep is a 3 inch wide band made nearly see through material. She uses it to help hide her tattoo, which works very affective as long as its not active, and it also houses a small set of darts (tipped in a varsity of types, from poison to sleeping to nothing at all) she uses those only as a last resort, once there gone theres nothing to stop her tattoo from being seen.
Specially designed by Ikaris for Rhyn own unique needs is a belt that starts as a deep V at her hips and twines up behind her back, making a near figure 8 along her spine, it then loops around her neck and comes down her chest to just inches above the V-line of her tunic. Its made of metal magic and it moves and flows with her as if it were nothing more then fabric. It holds her daggers in place along the back piece when shes not using them.
Again designed by the former Lady Ikaris Mayhem Psyk for her is two matching wrist bands. They start under her elbow and twine around her forearms, wrapping around her wrist before dipping down across the back of her palms, forming a 'v' over her middle finger. It makes for a beautiful design when her hand is open, and a deadly weapon when she makes a fist. Because of the magic properties in them as well, they in no why constrict her movements, again moving with her more like a fabric, or second skin then anything. They are also designed so that if in a fight she were ever to drop, or let go, of her daggers they instantly attach themselves to her cuffs so that she doesn't lose them, or ever have to be out of her reach.
Special Abilities: She is above and beyond all a Reki master. With emphasis on healing abilities and reverse healing. She has a natural ability to control energy. And is constantly learning more and more ways to manipulate it. As a Rhynoulta elf she was born a healer, and that ability has only grown more and more with time. Even as she has become aware of who to use her abilities in more and more ways, she is still by nature a great healer.
Other then her extreme healing abilities, she also has been able to manipulate her own energies and those around her. She can use it in a fight by projecting a slight shield around herself, and to a certain extent her comrades, focus it to use it as an energy blast. Though both of those skills are her weakest that she has. She relies mostly on her healing abilities.
Her healing powers are astonishingly high, being able to heal herself with hardly a thought to it. And as a true fighter, she has conditioned herself to even heal many of her minor wounds from a battle without actually needing to take the time away from the battle to focus on doing so. She is also able to heal others with the same ease and near flippant manner, though she does need to focus too do so for others.
She has also mastered the art of reverse Reki. In which instead of adding positive energy to a person to heal them, she infuses them with negative energy, forcing the positive out. That in turn opens up previous wounds that they have had. Making them as fresh as the day they were originally inflicted. It starts with the most recent ones, and the longer she does it, the older and older the wounds become. until a person is left with every single wound they have ever had in there life is open and fresh as the day it was made, all at the very same time. It is a very effective, and extremely painful way to kill.
She at times has also been able to use this reverse Reki technique to stop opponents with natural healing abilities from healing from doing so as well. But even as powerful of a Reki master that she is, she prefers to simply focus on healing abilities and kill with her own two daggers.
Due to both her Rhynoulta side and that of her demon heritage she is a creature of pure energy. She can sense energies in other people to a certain level and even distinguish them from others. The more time she spends around another the better she'd be able to tell their energy. Also the closer she is to them in proximity leads to her having a better and more complete feel for another's unique energy.
(At this point in her life she has the knowledge of Ikaris Mayhem Psyk, Jehdin tal Darasin, his dur'va'sheen, a'Mahth, and Lector Vastentium She has spent enough time with these people that she would know their energies anywhere.)
Personality/Attitude:
Rhyn has a very in your face attitude, with a take no prisoners mentality. She has no cares what anyone else may think of her, and makes that very obvious. She will do what ever she wants, when ever she wants, and take out anyone in her way of doing so.
Partly from where she came from, (and her own personal disgust with even being similar to her own people) and partly just from her own inquisitive nature, she has a craving to learn and absorb everything that she can. She is by nature a scholar. She is constantly on a search to learn any and everything that she can. But even in her quest for knowledge, she can be at times fickle. As great as her need to learn everything is, her drive to be 'entertained' is even greater. She absolutely detests being bored and will do everything in her power to avoid that. Her desire to be interested in a situation at times will outweigh her overwhelming thirst for knowledge. The combined drive for both is in truth one of the main reasons that she originally forged a friendship with Ikaris. Knowing the she does know just about everything there is too know. (Including even what Rhyn is mixed with and her true name) And that with her, things are seldom boring.
Rhyn at times can come across as being quite insane. That perception is fueled by the facts that she is driven to always be interested, and that can also cause her to have a fairly short attention span at times. She easily flows from one thing to another without ever a pause. She has absolutely no care of what others opinions of her maybe, and refuses to change herself for anyone.
Also adding to her perceived insanity is the fact that she has VERY strong ideals of what right and wrong are. But they are not always the commonly excepted views of the concepts. Instead based off of her own personal day to day experiences. Coming from a background that had no concept of either at all, she was literally a fresh slate when it came to making choices on things like that. because of that sometimes her, strongly opinionated and enforced, views of good and evil can VERY much contradict what they commonly accepted views on the subjects are. And her judgment in such concepts can simply seem down right absurd. Which is the main reason she comes off as being completely insane at times. But in truth she is one of the most sane and stable people you'd ever meet. And those that know that fact about her are the ones that truly know what she is capable of, and the ones who know to take her seriously, no matter what face she may be wearing.
In brief Rhyn is a fighter and a scholar, in that order. However if you asked her to narrow it down to only one, she would chose scholar. In her own words her view on the world is simply 'If you don't know it or understand it, learn it, understand it, or kill it.'
Loyalties:
Rhyn is furiously loyal to those that feels deserves it, who've earned it. And she will do anything for them and to protect them. But at the same time as soon as some one who has gained her trust and loyalty turns and goes against what she personally believes is right, she will be the first person to turn against them, and make no apologizes for doing so either. And anyone that is a true and competent fighter, and can prove it, will be the first to earn her respect, even if they are her enemy.
Her loyalties are also simply devoted to those around her. No matter where they may fall on to the moral chart, if someone has earned her trust and loyalty she will protect them. That does also include any she has taken in to her life and considers 'family', whether she will willingly admit they are family or not. Those who have earned the right to be on her protected list at this time are Ikaris, whom she still even after all this time considers her 'Auntie', and Jehdin. She is still struggling with the idea of adding to that list one other name, but as of yet is still to unsettled by what compilations that would mean to her.
Fighting Style:
Rhyn is by her very nature a fighter. Which is one of the reasons her own people turned there back on her. She loves being in the middle of a battle, the feeling of her blood rushing, and knowing what damage she can cause. She'll willingly jump in to middle of someone else's war, without much care as to what side she ends up on, if she even chooses a side at all. She is never one to back down from a challenge, much less a fight. Though as much as she loves to fight, she is seldom the one start the fight.
She is a very skilled in fighting. Taking bits and pieces of different techniques to add to her own skills. Including marital arts, with an emphasis on Mantis style Kung-Fu, which works well with her natural flow, speed, agility and grace. As well as her natural light build and structure from being an elf. As well as styles like kick boxing and Akido. She does prefer the up close and personal kill, enjoying the thought that the last this any of her opponents will see is the fire burning in her sapphire eyes. Which is why she favors her daggers above any other weapon.
Tattoos/Markings: On her left bicep she has two tear drops, about one inch in length and half an inch wide. One is upside down to the other, forming a ying-yang design. She believes this was done to brand her as a very young child by her people to mark her as a high healer. In truth it was a birth mark that was placed on her by her demonic father, to show she was altered from the rest of her people, and so he would be able to tell her apart from the other Rhynoulta. She since leaving them tried to cover it up, and had a barred wire tattoo in silver wrapped around her bicep over the top of it. It worked for the most part, making the original tear drops nearly in distinguishable, unless you get very close to it. Which is all but impossible, as she does everything in her power to constantly keep it hidden from very.
The main reason that she keeps it as hidden as possible is because it is a reactive tattoo. The original tear drops were a pale violet. They were designed to 'activate' when ever she uses her reki abilities, and they still do so. She has no way of stopping it from happening. Since she coved them with the barred wire though, instead of just the tear drops glowing, the entire band now does so. What color the tattoo glows depends on what type of Reki she is using, and how she's using it.
It will be a pale blue when using healing on others, white when using it on herself (weather realized or not), neon violet when shes using reverse Reki, and a soft pale green when she uses her abilities for anything else.
Weapons: Two twin elbow blade daggers, that where made by the former Lady Ikaris Mayhem Psyk. They have a curved, near snake like, look to them. With a blade that starts at the grip, and flows razor sharp down the curves of the blade. Approximately two feet in length from end to end. It was designed just for her, and the curve of the blade fits naturally against her forearm. It is made fro pure quicksilver, and are unbreakable.
On the band she wears on her bicep, to help cover her tattoo, she carries a small set of throwing darts. They have serious tips to them, poison, sleeping, razor sharp, and everything between. She uses those as a last resort only, for when they are gone theres nothing to keep her tattoo from becoming seen under the band.
Other Equipment: Small magical satchel bag that she wears off of the the belt at her waist. It carries an infinite supply of hand mirrors, and nothing else.
Strengths: She has the natural speed, agility, and grace of an elf. With her natural and learned abilities she has deadly accuracy with her daggers. By far though her greatest strength is her nearly unnaturally high healing ability, making her nearly invincible. The only way to truly inflict any real damage on her is too simultaneously infect several serve and or life threating wounds on her, and stop her from being able to use her healing abilities at the same time.
Weakness: She is an elf, has has the light structure of one, making her vulnerable to brute force attacks and heavy blows. Her biggest weakness however, stems directly from her biggest strength – her healing. Because she does have such a high ability, and knows it, she tends to be quite reckless in battle. Taking chances and risks that no one else would even dream of. She, sometimes foolishly, goes in to any fight with the knowledge she WILL win. She is at many times too overly confident in her healing abilities. She relies heavily on her Reki healing no matter what the circumstances.
Also he tattoo is a great weakness to her, which is one of the main reasons that she tries to keep it hidden all the time. If her opponents see it, they can know when she is using her reki abilities. Also if she sees them more then once in battle, they can easily figure out what color marks what and figure out exactly what shes doing by that. And from there stop her from doing it.
Background:
(Rhyn has two unique backgrounds. The first one is the one that is known to herself from what she has pieced together from her own memories. That is as follows: )
She was born to the Rhynoulta elves. They are a nomadic tribe that have no ability to even comprehend the concepts of right and wrong and confect. They are neutral to a point of being stupid. They are also very strong healers. Partly because they have to be, they are too neutral to even comprehend fighting back, if they didn't have natural healing abilities, they would have died out long ago. She was born to them as a half-breed. Her mother was a pure Rhynoulta, the father was an unknown demon who was never spoke of. Mostly because no one cared to, Rhynoulta literally have no concept of even rape being wrong.

When she was still very young, at an age of 3 or so, her people realized that she was more powerful of a healer then anyone they had ever seen before. She was given the status of a High Priestess among all of the Rhynoulta. She was moved to the main tribe, and away from her own smaller clan. To mark her status as what it was, they tattooed on her left bicep two tear drops, each about one inch in length and half an inch wide. One is upside down to the other, forming a ying-yang design. They are a soft pale violet in color. When ever she actively used her abilities to heal someone the tattoo would glow. It was a sing of honor among her people. Even at that young of an age, she found it an annoyance. But knowing what her people felt abut it, she stayed quite.
When she was about 4 or 5 she began to for even more thoughts and ideas and began to ask questions. Her people found that disturbing and tried to hush her. Rhynoulta don't have opinions on anything. Soon she began to also use her abilities as she felt, not just doing what she was told. When others of the main clan found out that she was healing people who had not asked for her to, but who she felt 'deserved' it, she was removed from her status as priestess. She was left to wander the lower ranks of the tribe and looked down on by most people because she was forming opinions of her own.
As she was left to her own devices from the time she was about 4 to about 6. During that time she began to make distinct opinions on the matter of right and wrong. While they were only based on her day to day experiences it left her skewed as to the true concepts they represent. She also discovered that as high as her healing ability was, she could also use it in reverse. She could could her reki powers to kill just as easily as heal. After she discovered that, she set out to try and find out just what else she could do with her control over energy. She became nearly desperate to learn all she could about how to control it, and in how many ways. And that led her to learn more and more, unrelated things. She was at the edge of her life, and knowledge was unfolding before her. She wanted nothing more then to learn everything possible.
As her clan soon found out what she was doing, healing, killing, and worst of all, learning and making decisions and forming opinions, she was cast out completely. Left alone in the middle of no where with nothing more then the clothes on her back. Her pure hatred for her own kind bloomed then. As she began to despise more and more those that had turned her out, even more she despised the fact that the world for full of things to learn, and her people took learning, or free thinking even, as a sin. She began her crusaded to learn all she could as fast as she could, and to kill anyone to stupid to not want to gain knowledge.
(This section of Rhyn's background is the truth about the above stated past. She does not know this. To some extent Ikaris knows at least a part of this, but even she doesn't know it all. The TRUTH of Rhyn's past is much the same as what she knows except for the why's and how's of her abilities and her natural curiosity and drive to learn. It is as follows: )
Rhyn's father was a pure, extremely strong, Shinigami demon. He took her mother from her clan, raped her, and returned her to them. He didn't do it simply for his own personal amusement though. The Rhynoulta processed a very viable resource to him. Due to their own unique healing factors when mixed with a demon they would in essence be capable of living forever, or nearly so. The problem was by survival tactics alone Rhynoulta are borne as Rhynoulta, despite what breeding they had. To over come that fact her father used his abilities to genetically alter her at the time of conception. His altering of her left her as a true half breed child. Which is what allowed her to be free thinking and to make decisions for herself. Which is what lead to her being cast out. His genetic altering of her also intensified all of the Rhynoulta abilities, as he hoped it would. Leaving her one of the strongest healers ever seen. Also, because of her being a true half breed and the abilities of the Shinigami, she was able to use Reverse Reki. Something that had never been done before, or since.
Her father had the plan to come back and take her as his own when she was 'of age'. Knowing that she may, and most likely, would still be borne with the pure Rhynoulta looks even despite his altering, he marked her with the tear drop symbol. Intending it to be reactive whenever she used any of her energy abilities. That way he would know exactly which one was the spawn he put so much work in to. That fact is one of the reasons that no matter what she tried to do to cover up the 'tattoo', it only made things worse.
The genetic altering that was infused in her is also the most likely cause of some of her more blood thirsty tendencies that she has. Being that she is a true demonic half breed.
Her demonic father didn't know how long it would take for the child he spawned to become ready for him to collect it. As per most demons, and even elves, it does normally take several years, or even centuries to be considered an adult. He never expect the force of impact that his genetic altering would have. And at this time if he went back to try and find her, all he would find would be a cold trail. If he ever did find her it would be to take her, control her, possibly use her for more breeding, re-emphasizing what he wanted in her, and use her for his own purposes. No matter what her own thoughts of that maybe.
(The following is the rest of Rhyn's known past....which there is only version of. Though there are several large gaps in her history. She is very prone to wander loose and lose track of time from time to time. Also she is a semi-secretive person. Preferring to keep to herself. Also as she is not the most stable person around, she doesn't have very well formed concepts of life as of yet.)
By the time Rhyn was about 8, she had been wandering alone for nearly 2 years. The only concept she truly had of right and wrong, good and evil was that learning and knowledge was good, ignorance, stupidity, and non-instant gratification was bad. She was already becoming a strong fighter, needing to to stay alive on her own. She had managed to unknowing take on demon form at one point to save herself. But she hardly realized she did it, much less what it was. She also had tried to cover up her tattoo, realizing it was a weakness on the battle field, the glowing colors giving her opponents an opportunity to see what she was getting ready to do. The man she found to fix it, didn't. He coved it in a braided wire design, going all the way around her arm. Its intricate silver designs and nearly and inch and a half thick. The original design is nearly completely coved from view, however now the entire band glows when her powers are active, alternating in colors depending on what shes taping in to her abilities to do. It was also at this time that she met Ikaris for the first time.
Being part demon, hungry for knowledge, even if slightly unrestrained in her ways, Ikaris took her in and helped to train her. The time she spent with Imp was focused on learning, training, and discovering her demon side. (Though to this day Imp has still never told Rhyn what it is)
After leaving Ikaris, Rhyn wandered on her own again though life. She stayed in some small contact from time to time with Ikaris. But her thirst for excitement and knowledge lead her to honestly have a small attention span. She'd rather do her learning hands on then from a book. She is a true scholar, but as long as a blade is in her hand, you would never know it. She is a hardened fighter, and part by her constant quest for a new fight, her drive to learn all she can, and her need for excitement, her views and experiences in the world have been much limited too the battle fields and libraries. Day to day interactions and relationships with other is something that never even crossed her mind, she had no need for it.
At the present time Rhyn found herself, accidentally, transported in to Calpsholas when Tower happened to shift unexpectedly, Rhyn had actually been searching for Ikaris for over three centuries. To both rekindle there friendship, and unknown even to Imp herself, sometime recently ago Rhyn was told by an unknown powerful force bluntly, 'Find the former Lady Ikaris Mayhem Psyk and keep an eye on her.' But didn't tell her anything else on the subject, or why it was so important now. After Rhyn did find Ikaris though she realizes why, as Ikaris has now been separated in to three different beings and isn't quite all sane any longer. Who the person was that told Rhyn to do so is completely unknown to everyone except Rhyn herself, and she's not about to tell anyone. Though it is rumored to be the same power that ultimitly controls the Rhynoulta tribes, though id that fact was known to Rhyn, she would have killed them instead of listening to them.
The time apart the two have spent from one another, as well as Ikaris's separation, has turned their relationship in to something akin to an incompetent babysitter watching over a hyper active 4-year old who just found a bag of pixi-styx.
UPDATE: Rhyn's semi-blood-thirsty tendencies manged to get her in to a fight with Lector, one of the first days she begun to wander around Calpsholas. After seeing the fight, and the skills both fighters possessed, Imp hired the two of them as her personal bodyguards. And though that new angle on life, Rhyn is getting a crash course in to human contact, relationships, and the opposite sex. Things, until this time in her existence, she had no reason to be concerned with. Currently she is at any time a hairs breath from nothing more then a blood-thirsty murder, has a moral code and belief system that even confuses herself, one of the most learned people you could ever meet, if you tired her down long enough to pry it out of her. And, more so lately then ever before, restless and board. And now trying to come to turns with the aspect of typical human interactions that DON'T involve death. And the concepts of love and relationships which was thrown head first in to thanks to Lector Vastentium. As well as the concepts of family, as she has taken a liking to Jehdin tal Darasin, thinking of him almost as a little brother.
