Jealous Gwendolyn

i. [Chanter]
Mother spent summer
evenings over

a fire bright
howling in chorus
praising the moon in
treasured chanting.

ii. [Longing]
When would her
time come
when she too
could join the
heart of the evening
song and dance
wildly with wolves?

iii. [Jealousy]

Trying to be
the moon goddess
that was within
her creator, longing
to paint rainbows
for the hearts delight.

Jealousy crept in corners.

iv. [Betrayal]
Darkness lept upon
Mother, her chant
was over- ruined

by a jealous

child, who is now,

by default

the goddess of

the moon.

Wonderful structure, wonderful use of vocab, wonderful emotion, wonderful imagery, wonderful everything! A stunner. And gorgeous background too My favourite line would have to be "longing/to paint rainbows/for the hearts delight." Thanks so much for entering my contest.
