Life

Life is the meaning of life...

Life is a series of lessons to be learned, tasks to be completed.

Life is a chance for growth, a time to become strong.

But life is more than a test.

Life is a dew-dropped cobweb glistening in the golden light of the dawn.

Life is the toothless grin of a baby when an otherwise mature adult loses themselves in the ridiculous mirth of senseless words and silly noises.

Life is a sunset dancing across the beach, each rolling wave fringed in red-gold threads.

Life is a gentle kiss on the forehead when love spills over.

Life is a waltzing field of ripened wheat, shivering in the humid evening breeze of a Kansas summer.

Life is a crackling fireplace on a frigid winter's eve.

Life is the call of a gull as it circles and swoops and cries laughingly to the azure skies.

Life is the warmth of a first love.

Life is a springtime meadow robed in wildflowers and wearing a shimmering blue sash that sounds like a gurgling brook.

Life is that soaring feeling that fills your heart in times of bilssful ecstasy or contented joy.

Life is a single red rose blooming bravely among the briars of a thousand pains.

Life is the noise and bustle of a family gathering where no one fights and all the little disagreements fade away into the gathering twilight.

Life is the sparkle of a distant star matching the twinkle of a dripping icicle.

Life is those long, thoughtful discussions of philosophy and politics between two people who agree to disagree.

Life is the creaking of an ancient tree as it sighs in a crisp autumn wind.

Life is a solitary walk through a welcoming forest, listening silently to the birds, the rustle of the leaves, and the whisper of the trees as you pass.

Life is the splashing laugh of a cascading waterfall.

Life is a good book that you can't bring yourself to put down until it is completely finished.

Life is the pale glow of a full moon.

Life is a candlelit bubble bath when the water never cools and all your cares just dissolve away into the frothy ripples.

Life is that sweet smell of summer rain.

Life is warm applie pie, fresh from grandmother's oven, topped with smooth, homemade ice cream.

Life is the swaying of a weeping willow as it sighs in the gathering dusk.

Life is a cup of tea and an open window on a beautiful day.

Life is the emerald of grass, the jade of the sea, the turquoise of the sky, the opal of the moon, the diamond of the clearest water, the ruby of a dancing flame.

Life is pleasure and joy and delight.

Life is a time of learning, but also a time to experience the wonders of a world of beauty and light, of darkness and shadow, of emotion and thought and sensation.

Life is the meaning of life...

If I had to take my pick of AP poets and place one at the top of the pile where pure, overwhelmingly vivid imagery is concerned, you would most certainly cross my mind.

This one is a treat for the senses, and every word rolls across the tongue.

"Life is the creaking of an ancient tree as it sighs in a crisp autumn wind."

"Life is the pale glow of a full moon."

Those two lines especially grabbed me. Absolutely stunning work, my lady.

I am delighted and honoured, my dear.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting; I wasn't sure where to go with this, but I just wrote as it came to me. I loved those lines too, if I may say so. I love the moon and the trees. And I love your comments as well. Thank you.
