Faithful God, my Source of Joy

My faithful God You reign on high
and love me to no end
You have provided in my life
the presence of a friend
I was not looking or even wanting
a relationship such as this
But You led me to this place
where I find myself in bliss
I never thought I could be so content
and happy with a guy
But You convinced me to rise above my doubt
And now I feel as though I could fly
I see in Him the many things
I'd desire for long term
And know that if it is Your will
this fire will continue to burn
I pray that I may not get distracted
or turn away from You
As this happiness is all a gift;
I know it to be true
Please help me not to lift him too high
as he's just a mortal boy
And to give all glory to You my King
who is the source of all my joy
