"Play Humanity."

Observe.

The synthetic laughter and life,
Top of the line advance in technological creation.
Systematic work;
Pattern to recognize,
Puzzle to solve.

Watch them.

Fleeing, flailing,
Heartless emotion tearing deep within the core of wires.
Water upon electricity,
Shocking, burning,
destroy,
Decay.

Play.

Indulge in the superficial experimentation
Of the immoral scientist;
Though “moral” is mere fiction.
To put away your toys is to
Murder.

Dress them.

Exchanging petty thoughts and empty words,
Soak it up through pores of structural alignment.
Generic and reproduced,
Individuality a label-- no longer an existence.
Let me give them their meaning.

Let me give them their life.

Self-imposed dictatorship,
You’ve not fallen into it,
You were born within.

...now let me play with you.

Author notes

Basically, this is our world's population--shells with the same nothingness inside. They've become simplistic clockwork, a "toy".
I like to delve into human psyche and alas, it's made me slightly cold-hearted..I think.

(Bah, I got bored after the 4th stanza.... :/ Wasn't really feelin' it but here it is nonetheless )

    This was truly amazing and I completely agree.
    Your metaphor of changing humans to dolls is truly original and creative. I believe that people try so hard to be individuals that they all end up exactly the same in the end. Thanx for a wonderful insightful write. It's embedded into my subconscience.

  • I love your words as much now as I did before. Most of us have become communists and bow down to anything and anyone that promises us a better future.. even if we don't believe them. Its sad but its fact. I enjoyed this poem, it was reassuring; I am not the only one who believes these things.

    The deepness of your perception on "society" is what i take from it. Awesome!! I agree that it is only a game, and we are just pieces to it.
