To a Cosmic Soulmate

Maybe I'm a fool to think-
that we're the smartest beings
in this universal gamble.
Maybe I'm a fool to think-
we speak the truths we feel
when this language is assembled.

I could be naive to think-
this forsaken place is really
smaller than it seems.
I could be naive to think-
this thinning world truly holds
the girl of my dreams.

We're light years apart, but
if you're out there listening
in this endless universe, then
please don't leave me wishing.

Author notes

This is a song, again when I manage to record it, I'll let you know. The official title is 'Interstellar Radio Hit', as everything I do is kind of a mockery of the mainstream form of it i.e. it's not meant to be a radio song.

  • i like it. the rhyming fits together well, and the repetition too.

Remember you have to love yourself first, and you will always have love. no matter who comes and goes out of your life. many people will come and goes out of your life. that's the way life is, and sometimes when one goes that makes room for the right one to come in. but if you love yourself love will always be with you. great poem. There were no errors. No typo's and nothing to change as far as i can see. I look forward to your next one.

    umm, wow.

that poem was not one of the best i've read, but it was okay. i'm not trying to be harsh or anything, but you should not compliment man in your poems. if we're so fucking smart, then why do we continuously destroy the environment? if you want to hear about the stupidest things man has done, then just message me. or if you just wanna say hi, that's okay too.

      to Tyler.

I don't think you got what I was saying...see, I agree with you, man deserves no praise for anything in history. What I'm saying in the first stanza, is that anyone who thinks we (humans) are the smartest beings in the universe, needs to get out more.
