them holy rollers

them poles is goin up again
the tent is rollin out
carwheels tearin up mac johnson's field
you know what its all about

them holy rollers comin to town
thump some bibles save some souls
but they can close they no good book on me
I aint fixin to be holy rolled

they say he died upon that cross
to save me from all my sins
but I aint asked fo no ones help
cause im bound to sin again

I dont need no fire and brimstone
its already hot as hell down here
shove them revelations and leave me alone
so I can crack this ice cold beer

them holy rollers comin to town again
thump some bibles scare some souls
bear them crosses right back outta town
cause I aint gettin holy rolled

Amen

might's well preach it to the choir now
cause I aint gettin holy rolled

call it a revival
shakin' and speakin tongues
claimin to heal them cripples
but they say Im the crazy one

well you can keep your damn salvation
an i'll keep my sinner's soul
revelate yourself back where you came from
cause I aint gettin holy rolled

Author notes

inspired by the white revival tents, a fixture of life for us southern folk... no actual offense is meant toward Christianity

    ahahahh, this is kickass.
i'm not sure though if you meant to say noone
or no one because of all the other grammer stuff that makes this sound unique
    but that bothered my eye

    peace to all ~flight

you got me on that one. there are a lot of vernacular transcriptions in this piece, but "noone" is definitely a mistake
