He lay in the fine, course sand
observing her graceful movements
as she drifted into the stained-glass
waters of the sunny lake
She looks back at him,
motioning her one true passion
to follow her in
He remains in place,
wanting a little fun and a tease
Disappointed, she runs out,
trying to drag him in
yet he's stronger than two oxen
pulling a wagon full of fine goods;
his muscles thicker than tree trunks
He pulls her down instead
She falls on top of him,
they stare into eachother's eyes,
their eyes so wide, they can
see their own reflections
lips locked in place,
they nestle together
until she is dry again
Getting up, they embrace hands
and swiftly float back
into the water, so deep,
but nowhere close to the depth
of their beautiful admiration
for eachother
