Please!
For mice and men
Beyond age ten,
Plus kings and queens,
And in betweens.
Oft full of holes
Just for the moles,
Or like a brick
And in a stick.
Then, too, a wheel
Has got appeal.
And don't you hedge;
You'd like a wedge!
But as you live,
You should not give
It to a kitten,
For you'll be bitten!
Author notes
"Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese."
-G.K. Chesterton
Seeing this quote on AP today, I just couldn't resist! :-)
As for the kitten, I offered one of mine a little piece of cheese from my fingers one day. I learned not to do that--kittens have very sharp teeth! She drew blood!

Kitten's teeth and claws are indeed sharp, sharper than when they become adults!! I love this poem, it's very cute and the inspiration is wonderful

great rhyme! thiught this was very entertianing! I think mice and Men was a very twisted little tale personally I loved it , but most people found it too disturbing. A great poem. Lots of diffrent random thoughts tied togther wonderfully!

Thanks! Sometimes I just get inspired, but I had to work a long time on this one, especially because of the rhyming. Don't know why, but I especially remember that I was working on it when I was leaving the dentist's office!
